E.V. grew up in the far western regions of New York state, went to college at the University of New Hampshire, and worked for advertising firms in Boston and New York City for many years. She left the corporate world for the wilds of Connecticut to raise a family, and earned her MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. Many of her stories have appeared in literary journals such as Glimmer Train, Story Quarterly, and Alaska Quarterly Review.
Kirkus Review called her debut novel, Connected Underneath (Lethe Press 2016) potent and engaging, and her second novel, Vanishing Point (Lethe Press 2017) heartbreaking and exquisite. Taking a leap into the unknown, she’s spending this year – and possibly, probably more – in Portugal, working on her third and fourth novels. You can follow her travels and writing life abroad on her blog, Necessary Madness.
